Handmade Hinged Stiff Rig – Premium Pop-Up Presentation

These Hinged Stiff Rigs are handmade and tied to order using my favourite rig components. Known as one of the best pop-up rigs of all time, it combines a stiff boom with a D-rig section. As a result, it provides excellent hooking potential and a natural presentation for super buoyant hookbaits.

Unlike the Chod Rig, this rig is designed for cleaner lakebeds. However, like the Chod Rig, it works best with highly buoyant hookbaits, such as pop-ups. Consequently, it ensures your bait sits naturally and attracts wary carp.

Premium Materials for Maximum Performance

Chod Hooks
These hooks feature an out-turned eye for effective pop-up presentation. They are ideal for rigs using buoyant hookbaits because they provide excellent hook holds. Made from high-carbon steel, they offer superior strength. Additionally, the double PTFE coating ensures a silky-smooth finish for quicker hook penetration. The hooks are extremely sharp and can be filed to near needle-like points without losing strength. Available in sizes 4, 6, and 8, with Barbless or Micro Barbed options.

Korda Mouth Trap (20lb)
Next, the hooklink material is Korda Mouth Trap 20lb, chosen for its perfect curve retention. It is easy to form into the correct boom, unlike other hooklink materials. Additionally, it is strong, reliable, and versatile, giving excellent presentation in many situations.

Korda N-Trap Soft (20lb)
The rig also uses Korda N-Trap Soft 20lb as a hooklink. This material reflects no light and lays naturally along the lakebed. Consequently, it improves camouflage and ensures a highly effective presentation. Available in Gravel Brown, Weedy Green, and Silt, so you can match your rig to the lakebed.

Chod Swivel
Chod Swivels, also called flexi ring swivels, are essential for modern carp rigs. These size 11 swivels allow greater natural movement of the end tackle and hookbait. They are small and unobtrusive, ideal for pressured waters or wary carp. In addition, they are strong, reliable, and versatile.

Hook Bait Mounts

Rig Ring – 3.1mm mini rings with a matte black, non-reflective coating. They allow the bait to move naturally while minimizing hook movement.

Bait Screw – 12mm anti-glare bait screws provide easy attachment and allow natural hookbait movement. They are increasingly popular for their simplicity and presentation quality.

Micro Ring Swivel – Size 22 mini swivels with matte black non-reflective coating. Small and flexible, they enhance natural hookbait presentation.
