This rig is a proven favourite during the autumn and winter months, when carp are actively searching for natural food sources. Because of its realistic presentation, it can easily trigger bites when other rigs fail.

The Maggot Rig uses a size 12 round bend hook tied neatly at the end of the hair, with a piece of artificial sweetcorn pulled over the point. This setup allows you to mount three or four maggots onto the small hook, which is then pulled securely into the fake corn. As a result, the presentation appears completely natural while keeping the maggots firmly in place — perfect for cold-water carp fishing.

Rig Ring
